Re: How long were you and the x together before you were married?? Whirlpool: We got engaged at like a month, married within a year, separated after 10 years. If we just were going out for 2 or 3 years I have no doubt we would have broken up. By the time things got bad we were already married with a baby.

But I didn't know him that well...just in passing. Then we got together later, dated for a year, was engaged for a year, then married for a year before I found out about him cheating. Then we were separated for almost a year and a half, reconcilled for almost a year and a half before I caught him cheating again. Now we've been separated for a little over a year, and we should be divorced by the end of December if I can scrape up enough money for the lawyer.
