Lost, I understand your point in saying that hope should just go for it so he can feel better momentarily but it is typical of men to think about just one thing...obviously women are not stupid that would be sex :)
However, there is more than one person involved here and i'm not talking about his wife..I'm talking about the other girl. If she really cares about him and he is using her for the moment than I don't think that is right.
Now, maybe if it is in agreement that they just have this one fling and nothing comes of it than things might be ok (but I highly doubt that will be the situation)
I just don't want hope feeling any worse than he is now. And if he still loves his wife and there is a chance of them working it out..this would surely blow that out of the water.
But..if there is no chance than maybe Hope should go for it.

weigh your options, figure out the pros and cons.

And thats the difference between men and women :)
Women (ok there are exceptions) almost never go out LOOKING for a one night stand... Men on the other hand, hell thats the best relief after a crappy week.
Sorry to be so blunt, but everyone knows that most women look at sex as a more serious and emotional act, then men do.
