Re: World of Warcraft discussion thread darkrose: Allison, that's actually a major draw for these games..self esteem. It feels good to "win" the game and even better when people pay attention or respect the player for his or her accomplishments. Like I said before, these people are addicted to the game, which is why nothing else matters. If there's someone in game, then even more so.
I'm always wary of those I meet online, especially in an online roleplaying game. It's just as easy to "roleplay" even when not in character..which means these people are fake and such..
I'm glad you don't feel bad about your situation. Don't give into the anger because you'll let him win. You are better off without him.

I'm still in DAOC. Primarily these days Alb Guin, but sometimes Hib Perc or Hib Bedevere.
I had been playing Sims with my husband. When we stopped living together but weren't broken up, someone got me to try DAOC. It helped fill the time apart. I got my husband to start playing it too. Anyway I miss playing with him, and in fact I rarely play Hib because it makes me miss him.
