I would suggest that everyone get ready for it. New York subway series...I know Lumpy is ready.

I've got a pocket full of tokens and a briefcase filled with sarin gas. I can only hope that the Tigers, Twins or A's spoil this NY only party...

I noticed you didnt mention any NL teams in that list... ;)

#1, I have no particular hatred for the Mets. #2, I think they are a shoe-in to win the N.L. As you well know I despise the Spanks. Plus I don't think they have the starting pitching to get them to the Series.
Re: Yankees -vs- Mets (you guys asked for it!!) superwife: Okay...first of all, why is this in dating and the single life???
Anyway, here's my take: I am genetically predisposed to being a Mets fan. I was about 4 yrs old when I went to my first game. Sure I could go against the wishes of my parents, and see my beloved brother turn over in his grave, but it's not worth it.
I was brought up to believe that you stick with a team through thick and thin. And IMO, many people do not do that. They 'jump on the band wagon'. My brother was a NY Ranger fan since he was a kid. Living on the Edge of Long Island, in the early 80's was toug, when the islanders won all their Stanley Cups. But our family persisited, did not jump on that band wagon. And in 1994, he was there to see the Rangers win the cup...after 54 years!!!
So anyway, as far as 'my teams', i'm a fan, will stay a fan. But I am a realist. I know they buckle under pressure. I told Yankee dude the other night "I'm sure the Mets will do something to screw it up :-\ ".
Oh, and by the way, my parents are killer Boston fans too (obviously an anti-Yankee thing). They make annual pilgrimages to Boston each summer.
Re: Yankees -vs- Mets (you guys asked for it!!) Obiwan: Wow, for a second there you sounded almost like a Red Sox fan...but I agree with you. You should stick with your teams through thick and thin. Lumpy does...the Giants have been very up and down over the years...and havent won a championship in his lifetime. MBF is a Cubs fan...and that speaks for itself because they have had such a rough past.

You forgot me and my Florida Marlins Obi! ;) As screwed up as their management is.those poor little rookies fought hard this year..I was kinda proud! ;)
Re: Yankees -vs- Mets (you guys asked for it!!) superwife: Well, read my edit at the end...I sort of am!!! But i think I am safer admitting I am a Mets fan in NY than a Boston fan (I'm not that crazy!!!)
Speaking of fans...In 2000, during the series, I was cut off on the highway. I had my Mets flag on my car, and the cutter-offer had a yankees flag. I kid you not!!!
