ARGH! darkrose: So I was on the phone with the lawyers. They're looking for financials and stuff as is procedure in this, I'm sure they want to see how much she can take me for..Yeah. After bills I have about $40 extra a moth to play with depending on how much my electricty bill is. She can have the $40. lol.
So yeah, we talked about a settlement proposal..My lawyer thinks, because she was unemployed for the past 3 years or so, that she might think she's entitled to 2 or more years of alimony. My stbx and I have discussed 6 months of alimony..but only because I'm a nice guy. Remember, she cheated on me and left me. I didn't want the divorce, SHE did. I filed after I found she was at least emotionally cheating on me.
There is absolutely no way in HELL I'm going to give her partying money for 2 years. Hell, I'm taking the kid, I shouldn't have to pay her at all. We're going to waive child support "until she gets a job"..and even after that, I've discussed entering into a "just make sure the kid has what he needs" style contract so she doesn't have to pay child support, or making the money available to her to pay her bills, because she's going to need it for a while and I can provide for my son without her help.
So yeah, now I feel like I'm totally going to get it in the brown eye because SHE decided to leave. SHE wanted to go, and *I* have to pay for it.

...not 2 minutes ago, I got an email from my atty. We're ready to make an offer to my stbx today. Just the idea of it all makes my hands shake.
IF she accepts it...then it's a done deal. If not, then appraisals here we come.
Going to be awkward when it's time to move her things out of the house...things we've collected together for 13 married years.
