Yeah, Whatever startingover: So he knows about my filing and that he could be served as early as the end of next week. He wants to see the papers before he is served so "we' can make "appropriate changes" if they are necessary and is laying a guilt trip on me that if I ask for child support that he will have to file for bankruptsy.
I know money is tight for him, but damn it, it is for me as well. I'm raising 3 kids basically by myself. A few groceries and diapers here and there is not enough. I'm not asking for much in the settlement, just enough to get by and a few miscellaneous tools in case something breaks in the house so I can fix it.
I am so tired of being made out to be the bad guy in all this.
Re: Yeah, Whatever Lumpy: Don't let him guilt you. Child support is not just the law it's what's right.

My stbx tried to do the same to me....that whole guilt thing. It worked somewhat, but I still took him for child support and spousal support. The guilt played in when I agreed to lower the amounts to something I thought was affordable for him. It still didn't matter. If it was up to him, he would get my whole income tax refund to "pay him back" for all the child support/spousal support that he has to pay every week. ::)
It's for the kids, just keep telling yourself that. Divorce changes EVERYONES lives. Adjustments will just have to be made on his part. ;)
