First Post, My Wife wants to seperate MRMR: Hello All,
This site has been a god send.
My wife wants to seperate,it came right out of the blue this tuesday(the day after we signed of on a new house!!)
I am devastated by this.
My soul is destroyed and I am becoming an empty shell.
I moved from Ireland to be with my American wife 11 months ago, I gave up my career in Ireland and I decided to come here and wait out the Immigration process of getting a green card etc.
So on Tuesday out of the blue i heard those dreaded words "This marriage is not working out"
How do you all cope and when does the crying stop?.
I fly out to Dublin this Monday and I will be straight back on this website.
Re:First Post, My Wife wants to seperate MRMR: My wife has given me the option to stay in the spare room of our new house until my green card comes through, but I think that situation is crazy.
Is anyone else still living with their soon to be seperated/divorced spouces?

Sorry to hear of your situation. Just from personal experience I'd advise against living together while you sort things out. Been there, done that, got the emotional scars and the T-shirt! She is intiating the break-up. I feel that my ex used me as her back-up plan while she got her ducks in a row. Then, once she did, I got to watch her begin a long distance, on-line relationship all In front of my face. Ahh memories!!! Don't be a crutch for her at the expense of your own self-esteem. I wonder if things might have been different if I had just left as soon as she started talking divorce. It's her decision. Don't make it any easier on her. Stay Sane.

I am so devastated by what is happening.
I love my wife so much but I don't think I could live together in the same house as her living seperate lives.
I even had surgery planned for sometime in the next 6 weeks but that will have to take a back seat, as when I go back to Ireland I will have to get a new job,find a new doctor to advise me on a surgeon etc....
Life is very very tough right now
Re:First Post, My Wife wants to seperate MRMR: Today I move out of the house less than 1 week after my wife told me she no longer want to be married ,that she needed to find herself again after only 1 year 7 months and 20 days.
I have decided to stay here in the US with freinds and try and put what I have of a life back together again.
