Hey Crystal...

speaking from my starbuckian barista days...

the standard for starbucks is to steam the milk to 160 degrees.  they should not be going over 180.

try it at 170.  it should be hot enough for ya, and the milk should not scald at that temp.  and the barista should know that...

good luck ;)

Wow! Thanks for the insight! Ok next time I will say: A grande, 170 degree, pumpkin spice latte! Woo hoo!

I would if we had any local little coffee shops around me... It's all big chains... I love mom & pop coffee shops, there just aren't any  :-\
Re: Burnt Milk - YUCK! 2be: Just giving you a hard time.  What peeves me off is that starbucks is really nasty coffee and WAY over-roasted.  It's all burned with no flavor... just bitterness.  There are so many great local coffee shops struggling to make business but still people line up every morning at the Starbucks on EVERY OTHER CORNER to buy this crap... because it's the "cool" thing to do.

Ugh.  My own vent within a vent! :D
