Smiley's Homemade Applesauce yella: My 7 year old loves my applesauce, and even though I don't have a written recipe, I'm going to share with you what I can.
Take 5 to 6 Cortland and Macintosh apples, peeled, cored, and sliced.
Add about 2 tbsp of water, about 1/4 cup of sugar, about 2 to 3 tbsp of brown sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, about 2 tbsp (I just shake it in there) of apple pie spice, a cinnamon stick, and a sprinkle or two of flour.
Bring to a simmer, and cover on med/low heat until the apples are soft, stirring occasionally. Mash it up, and serve warm.
It tastes just like the inside of an apple pie. ;)
