Help! Property Issue yari20: Ok, my STBX and I have agreed to an uncontested divorce and are filling out our own separation agreement. He'll be staying in the house that we bought, and I will be moving to Florida where my family is. The thing is that the house that we bought is in my father-in-law's name. The deed and the mortgage is in his name, but we have always paid the mortgage and taxes. My STBX has agreed that if and when he sells the house, that he will give me 50% of the proceeds.
My question is, how can I write this into the agreement? What clause should I use? Also, will there be any issues or complications with this arrangement? Should I sign an agreement between myself and my father-in-law just in case? (BTW, I live in NY) Please help! I want to hurry up and file this agreement and move on with my life.

You can do an uncontested divorce and still have an attorney advise you/draw up papers. You might want to consider that since you have a lot of questions.
I would look online too. A lot of people have websites of information on drawing up seperation agreements, etc.
