Re:Eharmony Irony brynne: My friend convinced me to try eharmony after my guy dumped me (we got back together)...but I did the personality profile, it was long ! I have had 10 matches so far & one even wanted to open the line of communication...sounds interesting, but it's $50/ month...cheaper the longer you sign up.
I'm still in limbo not sure if I should b/c I think people on eharmony are looking to settle down & not sure if I need that right now. Plus I need to explore the relationship w/ the man I just got back together with. He does have potential, I'm just taking my time to protect my feelings.
Any other experiences w/ eharmony ?
Hope
Re:Eharmony Irony incoherentlonghorn: My uncle uses e-harmony. He had 30 plus contacts very quickly and narrowed it down to two women. He flew cross country for the first for 6 months. The second he's still dating.
Like Hope28 stated, almost everyone that made contact wanted to settle down. And most of them wanted to settle down yesterday; like my uncle.
Good luck.

Re:Eharmony Irony picadilly: A friend here on Ojar suggested I check it out, interesting site... unfortunately because I'm still "separated" they don't want me. humph.. lol. I wish they told me that before I took half an hour to fill out that questionnaire.
It is more expensive then some of those other dating sites but on the flip side... because of the cost, you know that whoever signs up is fairly serious about a relationship & you don't get those wishy washy types in there. It filters out the looky-loos I guess.
Have you guys seen the add for that new dating site? True, I think it's called. They do a back ground check on you so they claim no one is a criminal or something like that. Boy, every dating site has a gimmick.
Re:Eharmony Irony JimB: I'm too mentally ill for eharmony. After filling out the survey, I was informed I was in the small percentage of people who "can't be helped". Needless to say, I wear that like a badge of honor. ;D
But yeah, it does seem that the folks on that site are really itchin' to settle down. Not fer me, thanks.
Re:Eharmony Irony jason_stl: Free shink profile? Woot .. gotta try this out.
I did Match.com for a bit, got a lot of responses and went on som dates through them. Seems most of the women who post their pictures on there are completely fooling themselves, because they look nothing like their highschool picture makes them out to be.
I heard nothing but complaints from the women that I dated through that site about how many men lie on their profiles. Apparently a lot of married or committed men use that site to launch their affairs. Not that I have any experience with it.
Some dates were downright awful where I felt like I was being put through the Spanish Inquisition (i.e. playing 20 questions about the ex and the divorce). Others were good fun, but the majority can be classified into three categories:
1. Physically unflattering
2. Wanting free lunches/dinners
3. Want the "hook up" and no relationship
Tried Yahoo! Personals with limited success and another site, until I realized nothing replaces the real thing. Now, I am just another vulture among the flock.
