Frustration doesn't even begin to describe... Plucky: ..what's going on with me over this damn car shopping. I found one I liked last week, but the dealer screwed around with the contracts and I told him to take a hike. Found out later that the car my sister bought from him 2 weeks ago is already in the shop, so I'm happy I passed on that one.
My credit is blown from this divorce. BAD. I'm finally back on my feet but my history is so crappy for the last two years that the only financing I can get is outrageous interest rates and payments about double what I can afford.
My current car is getting ready to explode. Power steering pump is burned up. Brakes are gone. Tires are showing mesh. Electrical is going a little bit every day. It's worth less than the repairs would cost and it might go another 6 months, then.
Of course, being a single parent...there's no extra money for savings. No huge down payments. How are we supposed to get a leg up on this crap????
Aargh.
