Playing with a 5 yo in the bath
.

Playing with a 5 yo in the bath spooky: I don't want to. I think that when a girl is a couple months away from being 5 she shouldn't be encouraged to play with her dad while she's in the tub, even if he's sitting on a chair oustide the tub. Is that so wrong? Is it worth the shit storm that follows?
Re: Playing with a 5 yo in the bath flyaway: well, I don't think it's really necissary.  At 5, she doesn't need you to entertain her in the bath, but she may still need your help in washing up.  *and rinsing properly*

my advice would be to keep it all business and brisk.  I think if there's some splashing, and giggles, that can't be a bad thing.

Is this your daughter we're talking here, or a gf's daughter?

It's a sad thing that we have to be soooooo overcautious now.  But this is the world we live in.

Re: Playing with a 5 yo in the bath allilm: For a lot of kids, bathtime might be the only time they have their dad's undivided attention.  Especially if you're giving her a bath during your weekend, when you won't see her again for another two weeks, she might just want to spend every second available with you.

Re: Playing with a 5 yo in the bath allilm: I can tell you from extensive experiece, that if my five-year-old could get me to play with her while she's in the bath, she would do it every time.  Every once in awhile she tries to throw a fit for me to take a bath with her (in the bigger masterbath tub).  I know the stbx would often read books to her while she was in the bathtub.  But yeah, I do the same thing, in trying to make it a fast bath and promise to snuggle in my bed and watch cartoons until bedtime.  I'd suggest trying to go that route everytime.  But mention something fun she likes to do, right before you start her bath, so she'll be motivated to make it fast.
