I'm Drained startingover: Between my boy's allergic reaction and him getting the flu he started going into shock this morning from hypoglycemia. The EMT's got his blood sugar level up enough and said to get him into the dr.
Well, I'd say it's time for a new dr. She didn't do much of anything even though he is dehydrated and has lost 3 pounds in less than a week and totally blew off the fact his blood sugar was so low the paramedics were called. I may not be a dr, but I know that when a person's eyes roll back in their head and they aren't coherent it is serious. She flat out told me he needs an IV, but won't admit him to the hospital because they would have to strap him down. She sent us home and told me to pump fluids, but he's refusing everything.
Re: I'm Drained fly: Wow!!!! That is horribe!!!
Re: I'm Drained sparks: If you think the doctor is wrong or just want to confirm that what she said is right, by all means, go to a different dr. Go to a different emergency room. Worse case, they tell you the same thing.
Re: I'm Drained JNA: Whenever dealing with Doctors...Lawyers or anyone in the type of Profession that affects your life always get a second opinion...
Earlier this year a Doctor told me I had cancer and was going to cut me open big time
On a second and third opinion it was not that at all...
It was an old sports injury where calcium deposits had built up
Always get a second and sometimes a third opinion...
It can Save Your Life or a Loved one's
Then always make sure your Physician checks you out and does not "Assume" by your age OH he cannot have that...It is "very" important...

Re: I'm Drained startingover: After 5 hours in the ER we were told he has Type 1 diabetes and to follow up with his regular dr. He had a reading of over 400 at home, and then 200 something at the ER, then it dropped to 78 when they drew blood 2 hours later.
I have no idea what is going on.
