Random Neighbor Call flizmo_kid: I just got the most random call from my neighbor. She is an older lady in her 80's, and I must say that the interactions we have had over the last few weeks has been truly a godsend. They mainly revolve around how to get her lawn to look better, are there contract painters who do good work for a reasonable price, or even if the company I used to have my carpet cleaned was any good...
Tonight, she called about what to do about some rose bushes that are not on her side of the property, but near it. Apparently one needs some newer decorative lattice to hold the bush upright. She does not feel confident approaching her neighbor, on whose property, the rose bush resides. She did not want to have an immediate opinion (which I did not have at the time), but rather she wants me to take a look at it, then provide direction on how to solve the problem.
This interactions may sound trivial, but they hold great importance, since they give me something to think about, other than the disolution of my marriage. It shows me that there are bigger things to worry about, such as the image of the neighborhood, and how it will impact property values -- which is something that I am all about these days. The call made my night. Just wanted to share one random event that brightened my day...
Re: Random Neighbor Call flyaway: ok. I seriously started purrrrrrring when I read your post, fliz. You've gotta be up for some sort of Ojar award. Sweetest man?
