I don't know the exact issues here, but I can tell you that I've been on this site off and on for almost 2 years, and I give just as much back as I take. I personally don't think this post is fair, but it's yours, so do what you will.
However, I will say this. Some of the veterans on this site have moved onto other things. I tend to deal with more of the pressing issues involving abuse because that's what I'm used to dealing with, but if I get a PM from someone who needs help, I'm the first one to respond. I don't back away from anyone or anything. If my help is needed, it's given. Plain and simple.
Just because the "old posters" aren't around as much, it doesn't mean there aren't quality people here, because from where I sit, there are plenty of people helping.
After having been here for a while, issues like these tend to come in phases. A year back, you had a small group of people who complained about how someone was posting. Not really the most sensitive thing to do, but they had vents about it.
What many people need to try to remember is that when some people are in deep emotional pain, a lot of what he/she might say isn't going to come out like an award winning novel. In that stage, nothing makes sense, and they have a right to post as they wish... mistakes and all. Many times their emotions are running in so many directions that all they need to do is get it out. Spelling and grammer is the last thing on the mind, and that's ok. Many of us have a hard time reading and making sense, but that's ok too. Just let them get the feelings out and progress as they need to.

But I have to say, I've had good and bad advice to my posts. I take what applies to me and leave the rest. I have too much going on to focus on responses that I don't like or don't apply to my situation. I try to help others so that I get the help I need. Not in a tit-for-tat sort of way, more like karma. What goes around comes around. I'm sorry if you feel like you haven't received the help you need, but like all public arenas you have to take the bad with the good.

I see quite a few of them perusing and responding in the Dating thread. I tend to frequent the vent board as do some others.
There is also a mentor thread that Smiley put together for any newbies needed one on one PM time with someone.
Also, there is a lot of advice given in PMs which isn't posted on the threads. So an outsider looking may not realize that.
