people dump someone they love all the time... the question is how hard they try to make things work.
If they dont try, then they simply must not have had the emotions to start with.

huh?? If they don't try, they clearly don't have enough love. People don't dump people they love *and want to be with*, they just don't!

Not unless they're on crack. Just say no, allmusic76.

Holy Crap!! Do you and I share the same ex?!?!?!
(or soon to be "officially?")
I know though, I am beginning to figure out.....there are people out there, and some you love, that just can't deal with hard stuff, or even day-to-day stuff. It sucks but it's true. Well, as I keep saying to myself...life goes on, whether you're in it or not! One foot in front of the other, and all that sh*t . I think I might even start believing my own bullsh*t before too long!
Re: Ever heard these words allmusic76: I hate to say it, but people leave people that they love all the time. It does happen.
I know John Lennon said that " All you need is love", but life has become a bit more complex since the 60's.
Commitment doesn't mean as much as it used to.
Sometimes the problem isn't that someone doesn't love YOU enough, it's that they love themselves more.
Torn I do agree with what you said.... I never said that loving someone meant you wanted to be with them. It gets complicated. What if you love someone who is self-destructive? You try to help them in numerous ways, but they just won't get help? You can try and try and try, but eventually you have to give up if they won't take the steps themselves. The question is how much effort is the person going to put in? How long do they stand by your side?

Very well, I meant in reference to this thread, the origional poster did not mention any self destructiveness or abuse on her part. I mean ,when a person is in a happy relationship and all of a sudden feels this need to be free etc.........and dumps their poor unsuspecting partner to go find this new and better life. That's what I was talking about, that is absolutely NOT love.
Leaving someone after some sort of abuse is entirely different, naturally.

I wonder what you guys think about these words :" i will always love no matter what.." normally said when almost breaking up / divorcing. Fake or not fake?

I heard it. I took it in the same vein as preparing a last meal for a condemned man. Throwing the dog a bone I spose.
