Does Anyone Notice This?
.

Does Anyone Notice This? Gringe: You have recovered, so to speak, and it's time to start dating. Has anyone noticed that they go after the exact same qualities/red flags, that they just got away from? Are we destined to be with the same type of person, even though we know it's bad for us?
Re: Does Anyone Notice This? clambakesX: Not destined.  Just notice the patterns and learn to adjust your responses.

I find I'm now able to recognize VERY quickly - and no longer engage.

Actually changing what you're attracted to takes lots of background work.  I married my mutha, and am still missing what I never got from her.  Can't rebuild that in a day.

I'm making a conscious effort to NOT go after the same 'types'.
Re: Does Anyone Notice This? Spike: It's habit. A bad, bad, habit. Try smoking instead, you'll live longer, or at least happier.
Re: Does Anyone Notice This? yella: Therapy. Seriously. That's how I did it.

Not that I'm dating again... I'm simply not ready to. I just learned how to stay away from "those types", so jumping back into dating is not right for me right now.

You have to learn how to weed out the type that you are usually attracted to, and learn how to stay away. It takes time and hard work.  ;)
