Defence mechanisms thanx to your ex? Gren: I was just fixxing myself a coffee and flashed back for a moment to when my ex said that I asked her to wait on me hand and foot - I honestly don't think I did, considering I was at work a good hunk of the day, but now thanx to her, I don't ask ANYONE for ANY kind of favor no matter how trivial. I'd REALLY rather get anything I want myself.
I was wondering if you guys had any defence mechs that your X caused?
Re: Defence mechanisms thanx to your ex? darkrose: The stbxw always complained that I never helped her around the house..now I clean the house 3x a week all by myself. It takes me a grand total of 1 hour a night depending on what needs to be done (I don't scrub the shower every time, for example), sometimes it takes me just 20 minutes.
It's funny too, because I'm doing no more than I was when she was still here..Towards the end, she made absolutely zero effort to help around the house..
Funny how that works out, doesn't it.

Gren: You can say that again - mine complained that I never did housework either, yet I washed dishes nightly, cleaned floors 3 time a week, and mopped every sunday morning - yet *I* am the lazy one. I never heald it against her, she just saying how unmotivated I was...

Re: Defence mechanisms thanx to your ex? alonewith2: Out of all the years I was with him, I only asked him to get up with the kids during a 6 month period. He came home at 7 am and I left for work at 7:30 am. I thought it would be easier on the kids if he got them around when he came home instead of me waking them up very early to get them around.
When we separated this last time, the first thing he said to me was "good luck getting the kids around without my help since I know how much you hated it." UGH! That comment really upset me. I didn't hate getting the kids around. I loved getting the kids around. I missed making my son's lunch for school, dropping them off, etc....
I even rearranged my work schedule so that I could have more time in the mornings to spend with them. I love that time in the mornings with them. Getting them breakfast, going over spelling words one last time, packing thier lunches, etc....
