Re: MFC BigSky: Flight, motel for 5 nights, meals for 3, 3 times a day, not to mention recreational fun, gifts, atmosphere, etc.  Can't be couped up in a room all day and night.  I'm glad it worked for you PQ...
I just can't put the kids through that.  I remember having a Christmas with my dad one time.  It was my own choice.  He lived about 3 hrs away.  Gawd it sucked ass.  It was miserable.  I spent the whole break with him and I swore I'd never do it again.  Kids think about the fun factor, they're kids.  I'm afraid I'm going to taint thier time because it will be so boring for kids under those circumstances.  I guess I'm not entirely sure what to do at this point until I consult my lawyer.

I should have looked over the paperwork better.  I was concentrating on the initial visit too much and everything else was just details.  It really does piss me off to no end how a lawyer really doesn't give a damn what the outcome is as long as they're paid.  I'm just another client.  I haven't had a lawyer who'll roll up their sleeves for me and put themselves in my shoes.

My last lawyer was the same way.

Oh well, I've already got a call in with my newer lawyer to see if I can get something worked out for future that actually makes sense.  Like all the 3 day weekends I'm entitled to, how is it cost effective that I fly accross the country spending 2 of the 3 days in flight for one day of visitation?  I doubt it will happen since I have no faith in the system anymore, but it only makes sense to omitt those days and add them to summer vacation.  I know it won't happen by the holiday.  I just don't even see the logic in literature.  Once again, dad gets the shaft.
Re: MFC BigSky: Just an update:

I finally was able to sit down with my lawyer.

Turns out she was bluffing or didn't understand the law.  Supposedly conversed with her lawyer about it before she told me I had to spend Christmas in their hometown.

Turns out I GET TO HAVE THE KIDS FOR CHRISTMAS!
I was barely able to book flights in time, what a mess.  Thank God for my g/f who did all the booking for me.  I'm very excited even though it will be a super short trip for them (3 days).  Better than nothing, and it will get me through the hard times on the holiday season.

She is going to shit her pants when she tries to reserve flights for them to come back to her home, everything is maxed out or expensive as hell, I mean RIDICULOUSLY expensive.  Oh well, guess she should have tried to be honest and tried to work things out like an adult.  Guess it's gonna bite her in the ass finally afterall.
