I was never with anyone who felt comfortable to act on it though. So I grew to think it was "dirty" and "yucky."
Until now...I didn't ask. He offered. I didn't think I'd be comfortable with it, but his reaction was totally at ease that I never gave it any thought during the act itself which was very grateful.
And I actually think the sex is MUCH BETTER during this time, but that's probably hormones talking. ;)
Re: A little gross, but just wondering LostTeacher: i think part of why we were ok with it was because we were doing it together since we were teenagers, and at that time, you just had sex whenever you could get it. we couldn't get alone very often, so we made use of any situation. i guess it just carried over into married life.
i would think it would be much better....think of how much....i guess you could say....lubed up you are at that time of month!!

Yes, that has been the case for me as well. And I know the hormonal thing is in full swing at that time. Although, my colleague (who is the maternity nursing instructor) states that a woman is in her prime of horniness during ovulation...kinda explains all the 'oops' babies....
Damn, I should have done it last night...(altho I'm not sure what his thoughts on it are, we didn't really discuss it, the expression just came up in convo). Re: A little gross, but just wondering sheydp: I have run the gamut on this one... In my marriage, I thought it was gross, but he was ok with it, so we did the towel thing and cleaned up afterward. I got used to it, and I too am horny then, so it worked.
Since then, most partners have had no problem with it. Didn't even want to bother with the towel - just clean up afterward, or even much later. (My dang bed is stained from that theory - UGH). However, there is one partner that finds it ABSOLUTELY disgusting - to the point that NO sexual activity can occur during that time... so I have really a wide range...
For me, I prefer not having it at the time, but my sexuality doesn't stop with the start of blood flow. I DO advocate a towel or bath experience, because it is easier to clean up afterwards, and the towel is easier to throw out if it gets too stained. That is just me, though... and this is a joint decision! LOL!
