I'm sorry for lying to you for all those years. I'm sorry for tuning you out and not listening to what you had to say. I am sorry for ignoring your wants and needs and making you feel less important and special than you are. I'm sorry that I didn't nurture you and share you with someone who deserved it. I am sorry for my denial and my carelessness. I'm sorry for not recognizing sooner that you were being abused and controlled. I'm sorry I didn't take better care of you and look out for your best interests. I promise that from now on I will put you first in all of my decisions, and never allow you to be torn down again. I know you are hurting, but I will spend every day trying to build you up again. If you're not happy, I'm not happy. You will have your strength and independance back. You are a part of me and I will never lose sight of that ever again.
