Reefer Madness opal66: My stbx is a pot head. I'm talking full blown pot head. I've learned from his behaviors that pot can diminish all forms of ambition, makes you loose sight of future goals, makes you unaware that life is passing you by.

Re: Reefer Madness opal66: Freckles,
That is VERY true. He rarely had any money, which only added to our problems.
Re: Reefer Madness Fendann: I've been known to poke smot every so often, but that's like two hits a month, so I would be very far from calling myself a pothead...though I've got a friend that "needs to smoke" every single day, all day....really ruined his life...
I can't say that I feel bad for anyone like that, though. It's not like they were forced to do it by outside influences or anything.
Re: Reefer Madness Mooneyes: I really don't think you can use it as an excuse. For example the want to get high alot might spur you to maintain employment so that you have money to purchase such things. However it is a lifestyle choice. I know people that wouldn't accept the sort of job that they would have to have a different lifestyle.. ie can't be high at work. They are very functional however. I don't know that it necessarily affects ambition. I think perhaps those who were ambitious in the first place don't let drugs slow them down (or perfer drugs like coke instead of pot.)
I think that people use drugs as an excuse. You may say well he doesn't do this because he uses drugs. But leave off the because.. the fact of the matter is... he doesn't do whatever it is you want him to do.
I am very familiar with potheads.
