Re: Holding pattern?? down2basics: Recognize your insecurities for what they are and where they came from. Know them as you know everything else about you.
If it helps....sit down with a piece of paper and write it down...look at it...then try to be as objective as possible. Ask yourself, what would I tell a friend if they were going through this. It'll help you find your answers.
As for my opinion, which that and a dollar will buy you a small cup of coffee...I think you need to live your life for YOU and your kids...period. If he decides to play along and truly wants to be a part of your life, he will. IF not, you can decide as to how to best proceed with your personal life.
I know your sitch...and the battles you're facing. If he's not ready to make that committment though, you can't force him. You can't make somebody love you that way...you can only control You.
(((((hugs)))) call me babe - you've got the ##'s...

Re: Holding pattern?? Cherry: Thanks. I will give you a call later today or tonight. I wish I could relax about this ......
Re: Holding pattern?? Spike: That feeling is what you need to examine. Is it fear? Is it experience?
Re: Holding pattern?? Cherry: Well he says to me that it seems that I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop. And that is true. I have been burned so many times, it seems that I expect it.
He tells me there is something about me that makes me worth sticking around for. (that is a good thing right?) So he hasn't really said anything about leaving or breaking up. It may just be my paranoia. However like I said he is walled up tight most of the time and I despair of ever getting thru to a point where he is willing to be vulnerable and in love with someone.
Maybe I am just pushy and impatient. I haven't really had much experience with what a good relationship is. Never had the example from my family and certainly never with my own choices.

Ummm, I don't think so. That means he can't quite put his finger on why he is sticking around. I have some opinions on this statment, but I'm not going to air them out in the open. Be careful Cherry.
