Re: Typeing my 1st resume and i need some input on it! Mooneyes: take off how fast you type.

Re: Typeing my 1st resume and i need some input on it! alonewith2: I agree with everyone else.  You should only include the last 2 or 3 positions since it's obvious you were promoted through the ranks.  They will understand that you started as a peon and worked your way up so you don't need to go through all the early jobs in your career.  And yes, HEADLINES!!  I'm not sure if all the dates were snipped or if you never had them in there, but definitely show dates after each job title.  They'll want to know how long you were in each position to determine experience and work history (ie whether you had continued employment or huge gaps unaccounted for...) ;)
Re: Typeing my 1st resume and i need some input on it! sylvia3113: i didn't read the whole thing, not even close.  but i'm good at resumes and cover letters and get drafted by all my family to complete theirs.

objectives are not used anymore, people know you want a job doing x,y,z or you wouldn't be sending your  resume.

experience should only go back 10 years.  if you think you've got something that absolutely needs to be in, then only a line or two.

WAY too much detail in each description of job duties.  leave out the assumed tasks and pare down the others to the most important. for example, may notify.....of abandoned cars to be towed away.....is that really so important that it needs to be in your resume?  but other things that set you apart from the average joe should be in there, like investigating accidents & rendering first aid, etc.

also, you can make alot of changes with font size and margin adjustments, though from this posting, i can't tell what the resume actually looks like.

ps.  i went to fort leonard wood in high school (many years ago) when my brother graduated from basic training.....i believe i still have the sweatshirt.
