They have to cut into that gum so they can get to my infected root without taking off my crown.  They have to then cut the root off, fill it and sew me up.

my aunt said when she has it done her whole face swelled up to she couldn't even see.  Plus I have no insurance so this is an out of pocket expense for me.

OUCH for the pain and OUCH in the pocket book im sorry

Re: FRIG!!!!!! startingover: That sounds very painful, worse than having my wisdom teeth removed with a hammer and chisel.

Hopefully it goes smoothly for you.

Re: FRIG!!!!!! Ray.Banner: Cherry,

I've had 4 wisdom teeth pulled, and also had an Osseus procedure, which is when they peel your gums back so they can scrape the plaque off of the roots. All with local anesthesia- lidocaine only.

If you want to save $ and be a lot more alert after the procedure, ask about skipping general anesthesia, if it's an option. And everything's negotiable, even dental work...tell them you have no insurance, and ask them for a break.
Re: FRIG!!!!!! Inkedmp: dont mean to hijack, but i had jaw surgery in 2002. the cut the upper jaw off my skull and moved it forward to correct an under bite that i had.

i have 3 titanum plates holding it to my sjull now. and 4 years later i still have numbnees in my gums.

i did get 30 days free leave and good drugs
