Re: St. Johns Wart marfanoidus: hey, please go to a bookstore and buy
"Feeling Good - The New Nood Therapy"
For most people with depression, this book really helps.
A brief synopsis is that feelings follow thoughts. Don't underestimate that.
Medical doctors will prescribe medicines, but there is another way to help us control our thoughts, and therefore our feelings. It has helped me tremendously.
Negative thoughts will create negative feelings, and over time those feelings lead to depression.
Control the thoughts, and the feelings will follow. Please give it a try.
St. Johns Wart lunnah: So, I've been in a crappy place lately ( da ja voo ) and I know I'm not really in need of a prescription, so I thought that the otc natural herb "St. Johns Wart" would be worth a try. I remember in H.S. my friends mom took it everyday & my friend said she was such a b#tch without it. So, I dig out the 6 bucks & give it a try.... thing is I think it may be making things worse? Patience... what's that? Could something that is said to make one person feel better give another a super short fuse or could it be me getting frustrated that I don't feel better? Has anyone tried this before? I need a happy pill that I don't need to take everyday. Don't really wanna be a pot-head so what's plan b? :P
Re: St. Johns Wart Lady Phoenix: I took it..didnt do a damn thing for me... There is another one called 5-HTP...its actually a chemical naturally produced by the body..I think.. my brain is shot tonight.. but anyway I tried that and it really did help alot.. Try that one if you dont want to go the prescription route.
And it is quite possible that it is giving you a short fuse.. Im on a prescription anti depressant and I know if I take the amount they suggest Im one step away from going postal.. then again if you ask some around here..that just might be all the time.. hmmm.... ::)
Good luck.. and do some research on the 5 HTP.. I also hear exercise works wonders.. my lazy butt wouldnt know :P
Re: St. Johns Wart lunnah: Thankx - I'll check into that. I do exercise - not as much as I probably should but that endorphan buzz only lasts so long - certainly not long enough to last though my work day, when I need it the most! But anyway, thanks again :)
Re: St. Johns Wart Lady Phoenix: Glad I could help.. I found this website that tells a little more.. its purely natural and helped me up until I ended up with postpartum depression after having my son. Worth a shot..keep me updated and good luck :)
