Too much testing! Alphabet Girl: Here's my little work vent for the day...
My students are going to be rebelling next week and here's why. First, we had to give them the end of the six weeks tests this Wednesday. Okay, I can understand that. Then, since it is the end of the semester, we have to give them their final exams next week. With the exception of Monday, its a week long event and we have a special schedule to follow and everything. Okay, got that one, too. Then, we have to give them a practice standardized test right in the middle of all this today. Actually, we had the choice of today or Monday, but since final exams count 1/5 of their semester average, I wanted them totally focused on that next week and not this test. Why did we have to give it now? We could have done it last week where no other tests were around or even the week we came back. It all seems like way too much all at once. That means that in a time frame of 8 days, the kids will have had to sit through 10 fifty minute tests and 7 two hour exams. 17 tests! ::)

Re: Too much testing! tirisfal: ARGH! I hated this part of school!
Re: Too much testing! alonewith2: I didn't mind the testing as much as I did the gym class. Between November and January, gym class was mandatory SQUARE DANCING!!!! UGH!
