everything depends on what you have to do with it..
the PDA/phone combos are quite handy if you have data etc that needs to be accessible wherever you are.. and can be synced to a computer work or home or both.. so files are always current and relativly private.
Many of these devices allow you to use word or even excel right on them.
Email, Txt's, Phone, Web, documents, all in your pocket.

This is what I use my blackberry for and is such a useful device. I find it has been nothing but helpful. I am always able to be in contact with clients, even if I am in a meeting, dr appt, or off doing whatever. Plus, it keeps me out of the office late night. I would have to sit at my desk if I didnt have these remote access capabilities.
Thumbs up IMO.
Whether its a treo or a blackberry~~ if the reasons stated above are why you think you need a PDA....get one! It really will make your life so much easier and your business will run that much more smoothly. Many people are able to write it off as an expense as well so it wont really cost you anything out of pocket at the end of the day.
