Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams??

Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? tryingtosmile: Ugh...lately every night I have been having these awful nightmares about my husband. They are horrible!!! Usually they involve him with another woman, and they are very graphic. Others involve me pleading with him or crying and him being totally indifferent...or me trying to beat him up  :)
Regardless of the nightmare though, I wake up every morning feeling so awful. These dreams are so real that I feel as if I have just seen him and been with him, so it makes me feel like I am starting at square one every single morning. It really sucks!!! I am starting to dread going to bed at night in fear of him haunting me in my sleep. Plus, each morning it takes me a long time to forget about the dream and get on with the day. Anyone else have experience with these kind of dreams?? Do they eventually go away? Is it normal or healthy for me to be having such intense nightmares about him? I just need to know that they won't last forever..I can't stand the thought of experiencing these "hauntings" every night.  :-\

Re: Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? smokin: hello

yup, i had them. every different type of dream a person could have about the cheating ex, i had... i had them bad, real bad for like 2 months. then i started thinking happy thouoghts to try to sway my dreams away from her.

it worked after a while, and they do go away. i hardly dream about her ever now. i do dream alot about drinking some fresh ovaltine though. its better than syrup.

good luck. try to sway your dreams toward what you want, or do. keep thinking about it before you go to bed. say it outloud alot, keep repeating it.....

Re: Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? Spike: Oh yeah, technocolor, Dolby surround sound. Sometimes so vivid it was like I was watching the DVD. At first I would fall asleep with Ojar going om the laptop beside me. Then I discovered that if I put some Jazz on softly, I used Jazz because there would be no songs to remind me, I'd sleep straight through. Changing patterns, such as the order you do things before you go to bed can also help.

You'll get past this. Good luck.
Re: Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? ann7906: I'm having graphic nightmares about my stbxh too--the worst was the one where he was molesting children, but most of them are about him and other women (most barely legal, but sometimes with The Tarot Card Reader he's carrying on with.)

It ruins the whole morning. I don't feel normal until I get to work and get distracted by other things, then I'm okay. But the cycle starts again almost every day.
Re: Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? johnnzd: Yeah T & T,
I have had many of those as well.  After a while, you just come to expect them.  Just a sucky way to start the day.  But everyday, it gets a teeny bit better.  You'll see.
Heck, I dreamed last night about another woman & it was GREAT!  A much better way to wake up I must say.  ;D
