Re: Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? DaveInSLC: I hadn't had any dreams about her until Saturday night, when I dreamed she was trying to get me to notice her, compliment her, and was being very nice. She kissed me, and then crushed me, and fought with me, in which I started yelling at her about things I know about that she doesn't know that I know.
I had another one last night about us arguing over the knife set.
I hope things get better once we each get our own places.
Re: Is it normal for them to haunt your dreams?? 2be: Yes, I had them too. I think it is just the subconscious purging emotion so while it sucks to go through it, you need to as part of your healing process. But as it's been mentioned... try to change your though process and think about good things before you go to bed. Put on relaxing music (with no associations with the X). It's kinda cheesy, but I found a relaxation CD (soft voice going through relaxation exercises over music and nature sounds, etc.) You may laugh but I'd put that on my portable CD player with headphones when I went to bed. That was the beginning of my best sleep cycles.
I STILL have dreams about my X. Had one last night in fact. But now they don't revolve around "us" anymore... she is just another character in my dreams. There is very little or no negative emotions associated with her anymore.
