Re: An idea for kids to eat? cdoulatiff: Great advice MEL!!!!

My dr. said...kids won't starve themselves to death.......Human nature will lead them to eat after a day or two!  MOST of the time kids are just trying to rebel and have control of the situation......that's why they fight so hard about the eating issue and for parents it's so unnatural for us to see our child not eat anything.

hang in there....

I have a similiar problem with my son not wanting to eat what I cook.  After talking to his doctor said to make whatever it is you would normally make (I would always make the kids a seperate dinner) but have 1 thing on the table that they like.  This can be a fruit, veggie anything healthy and only give them half a glass of milk.  I also took away junk nights (alternate everyother day between healthy bed time snack or a treat) I took this away for about 2 weeks and one night at dinner I said If everyone tries their dinner and eats a fruit and a veggie they get a treat tonight.  This did not work the first few times but when they knew I wasnt messin around on not getting a treat...IT WORKED!!  They didn't eat all of it but they tried it.You have to try something a few times before you like it and if it is not made into a big production...that makes it alot easier.  Always reward for trying, we all like hearing it!

Good luck!
