Re: we are back at square one, or worse? lonewolf: Damn these 'head turner' women huh? They always seem to be the one to leave us men...

JNA & Frank, i'm in the same boat. She had the looks alright. Even went through the final round of auditions for 'Moulin Rouge' - Nicole Kidman's movie. My ex had admirers wherever she went. The one thing she loved about me was that i could beat them down if they ever touched her lol.

But i discovered my problem. I put her on a friggin pedestal. That was my mistake.

Now i promise myself the next woman i'm going to let in personally, i'll respect her for the woman that she is, but never let myself feel 'less' than her.

Sorry to hijack.

No, Hijack away..........
I totally feel you, that is exactly what I did!  I let myself feel 'less' than her, although knowing in my heart there is 100% no objective reason for that.

Re: we are back at square one, or worse? crushedman: There is a song out there that goes something like this:

"If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, you need to make an ugly women your wife..."

There might be some truth to it.  As someone that has dated some very attractive women, I've learned some tough lessons and have some opinions.  The problem is that if a woman is an innate head turner, people tend to treat her with a kind of undeserved reverence.  This can be the kiss of death because if enough people lavish enough undeserved praise on a person, it becomes natural to start to believe and accept this praise as reality.    Then your girlfriend/wife starts thinking they are better than you and a calamity ensues.  I'm not exaggerating here.  This is the reality of our society.

If any woman ever does that to me... *boot* straight out the friggin door.

And i'll make sure the door SLAPS her ass on the way out!
Re: we are back at square one, or worse? shatteredc: Im in the exact same boat... My ex was a real head turner, people always told me how beautiful she was and how lucky I was.. I honestly have never met or seen someone so beautiful, this is what makes it really hard. Of course personality is just as important though, and hers was gold also. I feel like my standards are way too high for my own good now .. I know I should have more confidence and self esteem but unfortunately I have always lacked it in life for an unknown reason...

I dont think I ever put her on a pedastal though.. I was cautious of that fact.. She did expect a lot -sometimes- though, but I always put her in her place which is one thing i am proud of now to think of it.... but on the other hand, after we broke up i completely turned weak and put her on the biggest f*ckin pedastal you can imagine by pleading/hassling her so much etc and lost all my pride....
