Re: Climbing just_me_detroit: I am sure it will be fun!

I love adventure and sports, and right now there isn't much to do outside!

I am going with a friend from work that has been climbing several times a week for years. He is very good. He will show me what to do.

Actually he already told me the thing about using your legs.

I'm sure I'll screw up though, but it should be fun!
Re: Climbing chaotic: Screwing up is part of the fun.  Trust your equipment and your belay and you will be fine.

Have fun is the biggest tip of them all.

Re: Climbing katbuttkid: I love it. I can't get enough of it, actually.

I think Climbing will be fun for you. And it opens up a bunch of possibilities for "what to do this weekend" once the weather is nice (of if there's ice).

Check out Dan Osman-- just google his name-- if you have high speed internet-- and watch some of his video footage that's out there. It's super good inspiration and really make me go "I can do that!" (NOT!) but it still makes me feel good to watch him.

Re: Climbing C-Note: The bent arms thing is key.  Good pointers dude.  I'm way way outta shape but even now I can still climb knotted ropes straight up arms only.  Technique technique technique.
Re: Climbing 2be: I haven't climbed since high school/early college... it was a lot of fun.  Did a lot of bouldering too, which I liked even more.

Have fun!
