Re: To Set The Record Straight vdc_1975: Spike,

This is one of the most impressive posts I have seen on this site.  Too often I read people's "story" and wonder how much of it reality or simply their own version of it.  I often wonder how both sides of the story would mesh together, my own included.  Im glad to see that you have come out of this a better person.

GL man.

It seems the older I get, the smarter my dad gets, and he's been gone for 16 years.

Now he paraphrases Mark Twain.  Nice Job Spike

Re: To Set The Record Straight yella: Spike... looks like we both found that road, huh?  ;) Awesome!!
Re: To Set The Record Straight big_daddy: Thanks for sharing that Spike. That's so awesome.

I've learned to take my ex's criticism, because at least to some degree and often a lot, there is something to it. It's up to me to decide how, when, and why I am going to change that. Just because it doesn't work....doesn't mean you can't benefit from it.

And you seem to have done that, tremendously.  Well done, bro.
Re: To Set The Record Straight flyaway: I can definately relate to this post, Spike.  I've become a much more mature, grounded person as a result of the breakdown in my marriage.  Not sure I'm to the point where I'm thanking the ex for highlighting my weaknesses, because I feel like  a lot of my growth has taken place SINCE he left.

I did start the introspection and self improvement before he left, and I remember him saying that he could see how I was changing, and for the better.  However, it was too little, too late.  :-\
