Types of Flowers Bubba: Well since this is a the dating & single life forum, I figured I would start a thread on flowers women like to receive, and which ones guys like to give.
Of course it is always best to give the woman her favourite flowers, but sometimes you may not be able to get them, or you've given them several times already and it is time to change it up a bit.
So, I have found most women are sick of roses. At least of red roses, because that is the flower all guys seem to give. The one I like to give are Fire & Ice Lilly's. Nice flower. Very pretty. And not often given to a woman. I think the they prettier then roses anyways!
So any other thoughts on flowers? I am always looking foe different types of flowers.
Cheers,
Bubba
Re:Types of Flowers computerperson: Bubba--My preference is fire and ice roses (I believe they're called). They're white roses with red at just the very top.
Also, I like to give the yellow ones with red at the top, of course.
Just my preference.
Re:Types of Flowers Bubba: Yes, Fire & Ice roses are very nice. Can be hard to find though.
Re:Types of Flowers computerperson: I was spoiled when I live in Portland, Oregon for a few years. You could find them for like $5 a dozen on the side of the road.
I miss Oregon....
Re:Types of Flowers Spectrum: You know, Bubba, the first thing I thought of when I read the beginning of your thread were lilies, so I think you've hit the nail on the head there. The main flowers in my wedding bouquets (with a few roses and other things) were fire and ice lilies. Everyone commented on how beautiful and unique our flower arrangements were.
I would avoid carnations or daffodils- too cheesy.
If you don't mind an actual plant, bleeding hearts are really neat (heart-shaped reddish-pink blossoms with little purple blooms coming out of them). My father got those for my mother once in a while.
Red roses are kind of a cliche, as you mentioned, but you know what? Some guys just aren't capable of the creativity required to buy anything else, and when you have a guy like that, you appreciate ANYTHING he gives you, because most likely he isn't making too many overly romantic gestures to begin with.
Anyhow, perhaps you could go on a floral website and look up some different flowers? Just a thought.....
