Re: Women bosses mariher: I just got an offer for another job and I'm taking it. So this morning I receive an email from the HR Manager (who is a constant pain in my ass) to write up a Resignation Letter for her, which I did.
So underneath the section where I signed my name I wrote the letters
HTN which stands for Hug These Nuts. LOL
She just came up to me and asked me what the letters stand for, I told her it was something I put there by mistake but I didn't wanna print out another sheet to correct it. She's like "oh okay no problem".
I just went into her office to hand her the mail, and it's still there!!! LOL
I thought she might have put Wite-Out or something on it.
Oh man, I'm a bad mama jama. ;D
**I'm sorry I know this thread wasn't really for hilarity, but I just wanted to share the laugh, that HR Manager has treated me like shit since the day I was hired**
Re: Women bosses allilm: I've worked for two women bosses in my life, one was fine as a boss, very supportive, but when it came to family issues she was totally cold. She had a son, but mentioned how she was back at the office within a week of giving birth. At the time I was employed by her we had a pregnant employee and she was expected back at work within only a couple weeks after the baby was born. And because it was a small business, there was no FMLA.
The other woman boss I had had her moments of being cool, but in general I just always got the impression that she thought that I thought I was better than her because I had a masters degree and she didn't even have a bachelors. I had to spend my first couple months there proving to her that I respected her and her position and wasn't snooty. It didn't help that she was constantly calling in sick and half the time we didn't know where she was.
Re: Women bosses icwtsmnl: i've ALWAYS had female bosses (except for my mba internship).
Boss 1- we were close and loved eachother......UNTIL.....her boyfriend broke up with her without much of an explanation and she was devastated. Since I was her only subordinate and had a boyfriend), she took it all out on me and we grew to hate eachother. I was fired 6 months later. But I moved on to better things.
Boss 2- she was great!
Boss 3 (current)- some people think she's a lesbian. I don't think so, but my gaydar is bad. she and I are sometimes buddies, sometimes not. But I see in this job that the female managers who are aggressive are labeled "bitches", when males who exhibit the same behavior are just "doing their job".
Re: Women bosses Chey: I'm 50/50
One of the worst bosses I had was a female. A real viper.
My current bosses (I report to 2), are both female and even though they're very different, they're incredible women who I would kill to be even a 10th like they are.
They inspire me to be a better person every day.
