From the scenario described, here's the analogy I see:
Have you ever watched discovery channel and the lion has just attacked the water buffalo? Do you know why the person filming doesn't try to stop it, or at least disrupt it? (I know most of you are thinking he's letting nature take its course, and for the most part you are correct.) BUT, he also knows if he interferes with it, he is going to get f***ed up both both parties involved!!!
