Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives Chey: Welllllllll it wasn't so much that we have warm weather, it's the extreme of it that's got me fidgety. I mean we're talking the middle of what should be a severe winter by now, and I'm in a spring jacket. It doesn't feel right to me.
But then I always was a sucker for punishment, and maybe I should just be enjoying not getting frost bite for once? ;)
Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives mariher: I just finished reading almost everything on that site. That really scares the shit outta me because it is real and it's happening, this isn't something that's just being predicted.
In New York City alone, we have been having the warmest winter ever.
Just for the following week alone, we have temperatures staying in the mid to upper 50's!! In January?!! **Waving a big red flag**
It might only happen every few years, but there will come a point in time where it will be frequent and then when it's becoming too late to do anything about it, the Earth is going to overheat and explode. **Sarcasm**
Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives Chey: So there was an article in the paper this morning that really caught my attention. I'm attaching the link here for all of you.
The article, in today's Toronto Star http://www.thestar.com/sciencetech/article/167344 may come across as a lot of doom and gloom to start 2007, but I do feel it’s important to read. The frustrating thing to note is that even though this article in The Star offers a lot of our “consequences”, they don’t offer solutions.
To counter-balance that is the new release of Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” is a terrific movie (in my opinion), now out on DVD that offers both the consequences of no action, with solutions and hope, that’s it’s not too late. There are things we can do to help. Little things that make a difference. http://www.climatecrisis.net/takeaction/whatyoucando/
Can we really afford NOT to do anything now? Can we afford NOT to vote in governments who are going to take our future seriously?

Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives CDNgurl: Thanks for posting this Chey - My co-workers and I were discussing global warming this morning, as well as "An Inconvenient Truth".
I don't know how many years you've lived in Toronto, but the weather we are experiencing is alarming after having seen that film. No snow in the forecast for weeks...
