Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives allilm: A story on NPR yesterday was talking about French (or was it Italian) Wineries buying land in England in anticipation of England having better condition to grow grapes in the semi-near future. It's a million little things like this that could have a pretty huge impact on the global economy in the coming years.
Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives Chey: I sometimes forget that it really is small things that we can all do to make a difference...for instance cutting back on red meat. If you read the link to the "What you can do" they outline how cows are the largest contributer of methane gas. I'm also thinking of buying a Hybrid when I'm ready to buy a car in April.
Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives allilm: I really, really hope I can afford a hybrid when it comes time to buy my next car. And woohoo, who knew my not eating red meat for the last 20 years was actually doing the world a little good.
Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives Chey: See!!!!!! You've been doing your part all along! ;D I'm using mental images now to stop myself from going towards red meat. Everytime I think about a burger or steak I put a face on it. A lovely big brown eyed long lashed cow face. Works everytime.
Re: Warming Article - The most important fight of our lives allilm: What did it for me, to finalize never eating red meat again, was a commercial back in the late 80's early 90's where a burger joint was portraying a generic burger place and they showed wrapped burgers sliding down those metal slots between the kitchen and counter, with cow noises played in the background. Made me want to puke.
