Will she always have a place in my mind
.

Will she always have a place in my mind shatteredc: Im concerned that because she was my first love that she is always going to have a place in my mind and will always have that power. Is this true?? I just don’t want her in my mind anymore and definitely not forever… I know I will EVENTUALLY get over her but it feels like she will always have something over me if that makes sense……?

Any advice will be much appreciated… thanks again people for listening to my crap :(

Re: Will she always have a place in my mind 2be: Well, as far as I know no one has invented a memory erasing maching so I'm afraid you're stuck with the memory of her.  However, that memory will dull with time and will just become another experience that makes you who you are.

You are the only person that can allow anyone or anything to have emotional power over you.  If you allow this memory of her to dominate you it will.

Re: Will she always have a place in my mind shatteredc: I appreciate I'll always remember her, but I just dont want to hurt or feel pain when I remember like I do now.. I want to remember the memories with her as good times, I dont want them to depress me as they are now. But I guess its only been a month, time will change this I suppose... I hope..
Re: Will she always have a place in my mind Crystal_Blue_024: Oh hun, if it's only been a month of course the memories are still going to be painful... She will forever have a place in your heart and in your memory, but as time goes on, that memories won't cause you pain... She will become another part of your past, and that is it...
Re: Will she always have a place in my mind lonewolf: What everyone said.

She'll always have that special place in your heart. There's always going to be things that will remind you of her in 10, 20, 50 years from now.

But the ache will dull over time. You just have to let it. Try not to dwell on the sad things as it will only slow you down. Live your life.

The day will come when you'll have a thought of her, and you'll actually smile and not feel a hint of sadness at all. But that's talk for later. Right now just concentrate on yourself.
