Re: Arrested Development Temporary: F & G was a great show.  I remember seeing a couple of episodes...I need to add that to the NetFlix list.  I may try Firefly but I'll have to convince myself.  I have a hard time getting into the Sci-Fi stuff.

Does anyone else watch Arrested Development?  I got it from NetFlix on the recommendation of a friend and it's a really funny show.  I've finished season 1 and am into season 2 now.

I didn't think much of Jason Bateman before but he's quite funny.  The writing is original and it's not like many other shows that I can think of.  It reminds me a bit of the show Soap from the 70s or early 80s.  That show was hilarious, at least when I was young.

It's one of the very few shows I've watched that I've liked.  I have the first season on DVD, gonna get the rest soon.  Great writing and wonderful and consistent character development, not to mention funny as all get out.

Re: Arrested Development Temporary: And how random is having Liza Minnelli as a recurring villain?  Genius!

I won't say that Firefly is for everyone.  It's somewhat Sci-Fi in that it takes place on a space ship.  It's not Star Trek like at all.  I can't stand Star Trek.  It's much more about the relationships between the crew and the people they meet than it is about gadgets and space and technology.

I'd suggest renting the movie Serenity first. If you enjoy the flick you should dig the show. You don't like the original Star Trek YJ? To me, that show set the ground work for Television Sci-Fi. I like the way they managed to work present day social issues into a futuristic setting. It got a little preachy at times but as a child it really got me into Sci-Fi.
Re: Arrested Development Topaz: I miss this show!  :'(

I will remember little random gems from time to time.  My favorite character was Tobias Funke, the psychiatrist.  I loved it when he decided to become the world's first combination analyst-therapist and "cleverly" combined the two words on his business card.  Or when he got kicked out of the house and goes to live secretly on the set of a cop show.  And who can forget when he became Mrs. Featherbottom.

The son, George Michael, was also very good.  Writing about this is actually making me sad!

Fox did not make enough of a commitment to this show.  You could never find it when it was on and you never knew when it was going to be on.

I keep hoping that HBO will pick it up.
