You take away my skim milk and/or my ice cream and you'll be in much danger!

Seriously though, it's the job of the national guard to take care of the state they're in.  When we had a huge ice storm in Kentucky, my dad, as a National Guard Colonel, was in charge of a ton of work to help with downed trees, roads, electrical outages, etc.  It's just part of what they do when there's a natural disaster, they take care of the people (and industries) in their state.  The helicopters still would have cost $10 million sitting in a hanger, not being flown.
