Re: Who Has to Work Tomorrow? alonewith2: Last year, the school district here used it as a Teacher's Inservice day, but this year it's a regular school day.

When I lived in Tenn we always had the day off, but up here in PA boonies, there is only one or two African American families, and they haven't protested about it so the school gets away with making the kids go.  :-\
Re: Who Has to Work Tomorrow? flyaway: I'm working tonight.  ;D  Oh.  yeah.  I'm Canadian.  So everyone has to work here.  ;)

Happy MLK day to you people.  :)

Who Has to Work Tomorrow? Alphabet Girl: Last year my school district made the news for making the students come on MLK day. Many parents protested and kept their kids at home - and we were required to excuse the absences because of the threat of legal action. This year the district decided to make it a teacher training day - so I'll be working. I don't mind - one extra day now just means one day earlier that I get to finish up for the summer, plus I am helping lead a cool training session tomorrow that might actually be something useful...

So, who else is working tomorrow?
Re: Who Has to Work Tomorrow? LostTeacher: in canada.....working of course.
actually, tomorrow is my only day at school.  the rest of the week i am going to be at our school board office, marking big provincial exams.  a pain in the ass, but a few days without kids.
