Re: The little reminders Fendann: I get the reminders every single day. I talk to my kids every night before they go to bed, but since they're only 6 and 2 (be 7 and 3 next month!!), they don't have their own phone yet....needless to say, I'm forced to talk to the ex. She will go on and on about how many bills she has (which she is NOT used to worrying about), and how little money she has (which she is also not used to). Always asking me to pay her Child Support or Alimony early....I've done it a couple of times already, but that's all going to stop.
I know where you're coming from, YJ. I was the one that had to deal with all of her creditors calling because she didn't pay this, or forgot about that. Changed my cell phone company, which landed me a different number (not entirely for the reason of creditor calls, but it was one of them), and I don't talk to her about anything BUT the kids now.
Don't think we'll ever go without having those reminders, but we can learn to look at them and say "Sorry, not my problem any more"...
Re: The little reminders 2be: I am within 1 month of paying off over 18K of credit card debt run up during my marriage. Did I have something to do with it? Yes... mainly my inability to say "no" to my Xwife... wanting to make her happy sometimes, and other times just not wanting to deal with WWIII when I'd say "we can't afford that" and she'd go off on me.
So yes, I am constantly reminded...every month that I have to pay $780 to reduce my debt through a credit counceling service.
And although it sucks i have to pay that and have NO savings to show for my income... I am in a much better place. Two months to financial freedom!

Re: The little reminders YellowJacket: And another call this morning. ::)
I understand that a lot of bill collectors just get lied to over and over. But I'm not lying, she doesn't live here anymore, and I wish they'd stop calling every day.
