We get used to hear from our SO a particular amount of times per day (either via phone call or text message), and then when they step outside of that norm, we freak out... Believe me, I do the SAME thing... We have to remember that these are guys, guys don't generally think, "I haven't talked to my girl since yesterday, I need to call her." They'll usually call if they need to tell us something, ask us something, etc. They're not usually know for just calling to say "Hi."I wouldn't freak out just yet, it's only been 1/2 a day, maybe he's really busy, caught up at work, etc. Give it some time, and I'm sure he'll call :) Also, when he calls don't be annoyed becuase it took him so long to call, just be cool... You don't want your guy thinking, "I better call her or else she's gonna get pissed."
