Oh, okay. Sorry, didn't mean to be telling you what to do. I just get frustrated at how harsh people are at times when they really don't need to be.

I think this is dead on. I know why you did what you did though, but seriously, it is okay to say no, or that you are (gasp!) planning to just kick it at home because that's what you feel like doing. No is a legitimate answer. Telling white lies is not going to help you in the long run. I know, it seems (and sometimes is!) easier, and we've all done it. ;)
Re: I am a liar l0progression: Don't be deceptive. But I'm sure you know that. By continuing on like this you are wasting your time by talking to him and blowing hium off, and you are wasting his time by keeping him from investing energy into women who are interested in him.
Re: I am a liar surprised: The thing is, we've always been friends. And I've never led him on. I've said no to him three times when he's asked me out. He's a bright guy, you'd think he'd get the hint. I've also made several comments about how I think it's a bad idea to date your friends, and how great of a FRIEND I consider him. I've as much as said, we're friends and I'm not gonna mess with that. He's smart, he should get it.
