I would narrow down by finding ones you have interest in or have been personally affected by or know people that have been.

Giving someone a Ride to the Dr or Store.
Visiting someone at a Old Folks Home.
Printing Flyers and Putting them up for your Church.
Your *Time* in some cases is just as/more than giving money
