Adventures in shopping Topaz: I needed pants. All my pants had gotten too big. What with the job search, I thought it was time to upgrade my wardrobe. I was passing by Banana Republic and I usually never go in there because it's too expensive, but something said: go in!
Bingo - 60% off pants! I got 3 pairs of pants - nice wool pants, jeans, and a pair of black velvet pants for going out - plus a very pretty semi-transparent black ruffled shirt - all for under $120.
Plus I had gone down to a size 4! Woo-hoo!
Re: Adventures in shopping Crystal_Blue_024: You go girl!!!! Isn't that the most AWESOME feeling!!!! I'm in the process of upgrading my whole wardrobe as well, because everything is TOO big... I've dropped 60 pounds and 5 sizes since June... It's pricey to get a whole new wardrobe, but it is soooo worth it!!! Strut your hottie stuff girl!!!!
Re: Adventures in shopping katbuttkid: Size 4?! 4?! FOUR?
HOLY mackeral!
I don't think I've EVER been a size 4. not even in the 7th grade.
Speaking of velvet pants.... I wore a pair I forgot I had to dinner the other night. they feel so good to have on! And to take off, too really. It's when they move than you notice how cool they are.
I just went clothes shopping today and got 2 pairs of cords-- one sage green and one dark coffee brown.
Both have slight designs on the back pockets. They were in the Jr's section which makes me feel like a silly woman. but the woman's section was just too... drab.
Banana Republic has some nice stuff! Lucky you. We don't have that out here where I live.

Re: Adventures in shopping Topaz: One of my co-workers brought in bags and bags of clothes for me. She was cleaning out her closets like me. As I've gotten more compact (I started running intervals and lifting weights more seriously over the summer), I've gone down a few sizes. And my co-worker has gone up a few sizes.
She gave me some nice stuff! Tree, you like corduroys? She gave me a nice retro orangey rust colored pair. Just perfect for pairing with sage green, avocado gold or cocoa brown (no, scratch that last one - too Happy Halloween).
I don't know if I would fit into a size 4 everywhere. I know I don't at H&M - they cut things small, so I'm a 6 there. If things aren't cut generously through the badonkadonk area, I'm better off with a 6. And I'm definitely NOT a size 4 up top (Freckles, quit lookin - both me and "my big girls" are spoken for!)
