Re: YJ's Disclaimer YellowJacket: Sorry if my first post seemed mean to anyone. The grumpy part that FlyAway mentioned was really based more of my thoughts of when "hello" has been returned with scowls in real life.
For OJar, it was more just that I wanted to let everyone know that they are "safe" from me and that they don't have to worry that attention means more than just friendship. It wasn't intended as a rant so much as a point with a humorous delivery.
Re: YJ's Disclaimer alonewith2: You had me at "Energizer or Duracell?"
If only I had known that when Tarbaby screamed out LaDanian's name during the exchange of sexual favors for the first draft pick that it would be the end of us. :'(

Yeah, why is it that when a guy is interested in being a friend, women think it's more than that?? Especially on the internet...
Seriously, though. I'd like to know why a guy can't just have a good conversation with a female without them thinking we're sleazebags and we're hitting on 'em...
... I believe great friendships can happen on the Internet and maybe under the right circumstances it could blossom into something else..[/quote">
Okay, since you brought it up, I took a trip back in time...

[quote"> I have never met a girl, who has male "friends" (non-married, in a non-married couple situation) who doesn't believe that their male "friends" are anything but friends.
Almost every single time though, their male friend, wants to bang them. This is why they maintain contact, however infrequently. Even in special or extreme circumstances.
Nobody likes it when I say that. Most don't agree. That's all right, because ultimately, I believe it's true.
There, I've said it. I'd say it again.[/quote">
Sure, this is one man's opinion (and it is not every girls opinion either), but rather than quote every guy that has made such a comment here (or IRL), I just gave a sample.
I am just playing devil's advocate here.

I don't think it is being mean at all. You've put your intentions out there (or lack thereof). You are being brutally honest. No problem with that.
A long time ago, I fell victim to this here. I was talking to someone off the boards, and was accused of 'liking' him. I did not, had no interest in him other than another person going through a similar situation. I made the mistake of exchanging phone #'s (which lead to a whole 'nother issue). It was a nightmare, he wanted to know why I didn't like him, and tried to oin me down (not literally) on what my type was and all that crap. After that, a friend asked if he could call me, and I was very hesitant. I thought "oh great, now he like me too, and he'll think I like him that way if I talk on the phone. Fortunately, I realized not all guys are like that, and have since, have had many boy-friendships here ;).
Sometimes it just takes one guy (or girl for that matter) to screw that all up!!
